The most well known part of the ceremony, where you and your partner say "I Do" to signify that you are choosing to marry your partner of your own free will.
Referred to as as the Declaration of Intent, this is the basic legal requirement that you need to get married. Some form of this is required by the state of Utah.
I have it serve as a way to begin the official ceremony and flow into the vows and ring ceremony. You can keep this a simple or traditional as you would like, or we can change it up.
Any of the suggestions and options listed here can be completely changed, combined or even slightly reworded if you would like.
Remember - Anything is possible!
Option 1 - Traditional - Short and Simple
Will you (or Do you) , , take this Woman / Man to be your wedded Husband / Wife / Partner ?
Option 2 - Traditional - Formal
, will you take this Woman / Man , whose hands you hold, choosing her / him / them alone to be your wedded Husband / Wife / Partner ? Will you live with her / him/ them in the state of true matrimony? Will you love her / him / them, comfort her / him / them, through good times and bad, in sickness and in health, honor her / him / them at all times, and be faithful to her / him / them?
Option 3 - Traditional - Soul Mate
, here in the presence of family and friends, do you declare your love for and commitment to , choosing her / him / them as your life partner and soul mate? Do you freely offer yourself to her / him / them and willingly accept the gift of self she / he / they offer to you?
Option 4 - Companions Standing Together
, do you take , to be the Husband / Wife / Partner of your days, the companion of your heart and the friend of your life? To stand united in the face of adversity and bask together in the light of good fortune? With these words spoken, and all those as yet unspoken, do you wish to marry , and join your life with hers / his / theirs?
Option 5 - Romantic & A Personal Favorite
From this day onward, do you choose , to be your Husband / Wife / Partner, your best friend and your only love?
To live together, play together and laugh together; To work by her / his / their side and dream in hers / his / their arms;
To fill her / his / their heart and feed her / his / their soul; To always seek out the best in her / him / them; Always loving her / him / them with all your heart, until the end of your forever?
Option 6 - Twist on Traditional
, do you take , to be your wedded Husband / Wife / Partner and in the presence of these witnesses do you vow that you will do everything in your power to make your love for her / him / them growing part of your life? Will you continue to strengthen it from day to day and week to week with your best resources? Will you stand by her / him / them in sickness or in health, in poverty or in wealth, and will you shun all others and keep yourself to her / him / them alone as long as you both shall live?
Option 7 - Equal Partners
, Have you come here today of your own free will to take , to be your Husband / Wife / Partner, that you may live together as equal partners sharing all that life has to offer?
